July 16th - 19th 2013, Visitors from Argentina ...

On their big Europe trip, Cynthia's cousin Sylvia and her husband Juan-Manuel visited us for three days ... and we packed some programme in it!

After picking them up @ Frankfurt Airport, we took the convertible and crossed the river Rhine into Pallatine ... to have a wine-tasting at the winery "Schneider" (www.black-print.de)
... here Cynthia with Juan-Manuel ...
... and Sylvia enjoying wine with Thomas ...
We bought some supply for the next days, drove home to ...
... finish the day off at the Marktplatz in Weinheim. Needless to say, that the weather was around 29° for all three days!
Next day we made our way to the city of Heidelberg, where we explored new Japanese photographic tourists ;-)))
Here us on the Neckar-bridge, the famous Heidelberg castle in the background ... where we went up and enjoyed the English tour.
Leaving Heidelberg, we made our way along the river Neckar towards Hirschhorn, where we had some drinks (Apfelsaft-Schorle!) on the terrace of the restaurant ...
... on we went into the forests of the Odenwald, had a stop at the Beerfelden gallow and finally had a little - late - lunch at a beergarden ... here the pilot and co-pilot ... ;-)
Here us in the beergarden. Juan-Manuel was already converted to wheat-beer (Paulaner) in Buenos Aires, so no big efforts to convince him!
Last full day we went to Trier and the river Mosel ... here the 2.000 year old Porta Negra, remains from the roman times ...
We drove along the river Mosel, had a little lunch at Trittenheim and then stopped at the famous Bernkastel-Kues ... here Juan-Manuel and Thomas on the bridge there ...
A really picturesque old city, we all enjoyed it very much ...
We also quickly drove up to the castle above Bernkastel-Kues, here our two guests with the castle and the river in the background ...
... and our photographer climbing on a ladder to take this photo ;-)
... on we went and crossed the Mosel on a ferry to have some iced coffees at Beilstein, another postcard village ...
So the day came to an end, we crossed the mountain to the river Rhine, where we had dinner at the castle Rheinfels in St. Goar ... directly at the window overlooking the Rhine ...

So next day our guests flew on to Rome. It was great to have them here and we're looking forward to seeing them soon again!
