May 8th, 2011, Lueneburg in the North ...

As we had a coaching close to Hamburg, we decided to go there a bit early ... so on Saturday night we booked two tickets for the musical "Lion King" in Hamburg ... it was fantastic!

On Sunday, we decided to visit the picturesque city of Lueneburg and have a city tour ... here the "Rathaus" (mayor's office) ...
Lueneburg got rich due to salt (the "gold" in these times) in the ground, which caused houses to sink ... ... here a "pregnant" house ... they used gypsum, heated it too much, so it got too dry. It filled up with humidity again ... and that's the result!
Lueneburg never burned down in the medieval times and was not destroyed in the 2. World War ...
After the city tour we had a wine ...
... at the harbour, where the salt was taken away to its customers ...
After returning to the hotel, we had another drink and relaxed a bit ...

So we had another "mini-holiday" which was followed by two hard days of coaching ... but it was worth it!
