On the way to Mumbai, India ...

Two days later, we arrived in Mumbai, India on 16. April ...

On the way to Mumbai, we had dinner with Ana and Michael, a couple from North-Germany, we met on the ship ... here a photo after dinner in the Sansibar ...
On our way to Mumbai we saw a huge group of dolphins ... approx. a hundred animals ... the ship made an extra circle, so we could watch them hunt and play ... it was amazing!
... and another one ... just fantastic in the middle of the ocean ...
We took a three-hour walking tour through Mumbai in the morning ... starting at the Horniman (!) circle ... we mainly show you street scenes here ...
Sad to say, that scenes like this seem to be everywhere ... we even saw a girl about 2-3 years old, who could barely walk ... but knew how to beg ...
Unfortunately the taxi drivers (and nearly everybody else) just tries to con you all the time ... on one tour, where we asked for the price, the range was from 25 to 400 Rupies ... to be honest: it's just awful ...
... bicycle wheel together with a street sign ...
... here the two of us ... yes, we took all pictures ourselves ... we've been there ...
... sleeping on the job ... in Asia's upcoming country ...
... we walked by the university, a wonderful old building ...
... and saw taxis being repaired in the middle of the street ... about 60.000 taxis in Mumbai ...
... we visited the CST train station (world heritage) with an enormous amount of people streaming out of the trains ...
... and visited Crawford Market, where all types of fruit and vegetables are on display ...
... and here the other side ... in the same market, just around the corner ...
... as we left the market, fresh bananas were unloaded ...
In the afternoon we took a taxi on our own (with little success in finding shops) ... and we saw the following sign on the street (it was beeping around us all the time ...
... as you can see, our taxi driver has the finger on the horn ;-) ...
In the evening we had a horse coach tour through Mumbai for approx. one hour, which gave us a completely different picture of this city ... here on the photo our nice guide ...
... here a photo shot from the horse coach ... a little bit blurry, but nevertheless it shows the amount of people, cars and action in this city ...
... this is us on the coach ... we survived three near-crashes ... the traffic is definitely outrageous ... that evening we left Mumbai and headed for Dubai!

To summarise: Mumbai was an interesting place ... with a lot of poverty and - sorry to say that - but you just get the feeling everywhere, that you are conned all the time ... at least this the impression ...
