May 28th, 2011, SL Tour Odenwald...
After three years we planned again a bigger tour with the SL through the Odenwald. Posted in an internet forum, 9 cars with 17 people came ...
We started the day with a little snack (Brezels) on our balcony ... incl. briefing with the roadbook.
Quarter past two, the tour started here in Mozartstrasse (first car here is a W111 convertible from 1968) ...
Here passing Weinheim Marktplatz (visitors might remember!) ...
... and for approx. one hour through the Odenwald on smaller roads ... some restricted to 2,3 tonnes!
... here going down a little valley in serpentines ...
... and across the fields ... roads just the width of one car ...
We arrived at our "pit-stop", a restaurant in the middle of nowhere, close to a ruine ... here all cars lined up ... ours on the left and - in the distance - a 911 Porsche from 1974 ... colour "salmon metallic" (no joke!)
... here the whole group together ...
... and the two of us having drinks there ...
... after driving back to Weinheim on a different route, we all walked to the Marktplatz and had dinner together!
Everybody enjoyed it and we're looking forward to organising another tour next year!
