Valencia ...

Next day already we had our next stop, Valencia, where we also had an extensive guided tour of the city ... this is a new, modern section built especially for sporting, concert and theatrical events ....
... looks basically un-nice ... oops ... sorry Spain, just our opinion ... but at least we Germans know now, where our EU money is spent ...
At least this area creates jobs ... about three guys cleaning the water daily ... ;-))))
An enormous amount of tourists were there in November ;-))) ... as you can see on the photo ...
... on we went by bus ... and saw this man jogging with his hamster ...
Then leaving the bus at one of the many old gates of the city ...
... and - like other Spanish cities - we saw lovely alleys with colourful bay windows ...
This was our lovely Spanish tour guide, who looked very much like the wife of a friend of Thomas' who lives very close to Weinheim in a city where the current F1 champion comes from ;-))) ... if you know the name, send it to us by email ... you might get a prize ...
The owner of that garage really wanted to make sure that nobody parked in front ... four (!) warning signs ... in a country like Spain, where nobody obeys traffic rules anyway ...
Here one of the central plazas ... an old church ... and - as you can see - we were again lucky with the weather ...
You could buy herbs directly on the street ... we assume they are part of a very tasty diet ... ;-))
Here the entry of the cathedral ... amazing the amount of old buildings in Spain along the coast ...
We visited the fresh food market there and could taste some tapas (incl. a plastic cup of wine @ 12 o'clock) ...
... which included delicious hams (jamones) ...
... which included delicious hams (jamones) ...
We ended the tour in a "horchateria", where we tasted a special local drink, the "horcha" ... if we were honest, we would tell you here what we thought of it ;-)) ... maybe not our taste ...

As a city we found Valencia very interesting (not the new part) ... with a lot of history attached to it ...
