June 27th ... Moira passed away ...

Too early and too quick, Moira passed away on June 27th.
It's hard to find the right words, except to say that she will be remembered as a wonderful, gracious Lady and a loving mum and grandmum. She was a very important part of our lives and she will always be missed.
I'm ever thankfull she was my mum and she leaves a hole that can never be filled.
Moira Lucy Hood ... 1947 (18 years old) ... and still beautiful in 2009 (80 years old) ...
Prior to the funeral, Natasha arrived from Germany and Jared from Melbourne ... here we had a dinner in the hotel the evening before ...
... after the funeral, Cynthia decided to invite close friends to the Currumbin Surf Club for a drink, Moira's favourite club on the coast ... here with her sister Glynis and her "brother" Alberto ...
... here the two of us at the surf club ...
... following that, we invited Tristen (coming from Melbourne!) and Sandra / Geoffrey for a buffet dinner into our hotel ... we had a "great" night - as far as it is possible on such a day.
We decided not to shorten our trip and to spend a bit more than a week in Queensland to relax a bit ... here having a coffee at "Rocks Resort" at Currumbin ...
... here the beach with the Currumbin Surf Club (Elephant Rock) ...
... we had a long walk along the beach ...
... and we could shoot some amazing pictures ... here a seagull ... taken exactly at the moment the "rocket" touched water ...
One day we went whale watching ... what a great experience ... unfortunately the sea was rocky and the whales quite far away ... but if you have a good tele lense ... ;-)
We also drove north of Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast to have a look there ... here in the local surf club in Coolum ... having a coffee ...
One night we were invited to Sandra and Geoff for dinner ... and Roy, Colin and Donna were there also ... quite some bottles of grape juice were destroyed ...
Next day Roy was kind enough to invite us on his wonderful boat ... and we explored the waters around Coomera ...
... here Sandra and Cynthia on the boat ...
... the obligatory photo of us on the boat ...
... and more wild life taken with the tele lens ...
... and for those Europeans who couldn't find kangaroos in nature ... this one strolling along the beach ...
Here Cynthia taking over control on the way home ... see the sky!
the booze boat there ...
... and some final impressions of "winter" in Queensland ... Thomas liked the light of the afternoon ...
