Celebration in Germany, 15. March 2008

As planned, we celebrated our wedding here in Germany on Saturday ... and to start with:

IT WAS JUST AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT NIGHT !!!!!!!

... in fact, it was the best night, we ever had! Thanks to all our friends, who contributed to this wonderful, smooth and relaxed party!

First thing, Saturday morning, Thomas drove to Frankfurt Airport to pick up the English guests, Gaynor & Steve and Beverly & Jonathan ... then we had a little breakfast at home ... ... here on the photo David and Steve ...
At 1:30 we drove the scenic way through the woods to castle Heinsheim (four cars in a row), checked-in the castle hotel ... ... and started at 4:30 with the reception ... everybody's waiting ...
... and finally Cynthia and Thomas arrived ... looking immediately for a glass of champagne ... ... it turned out to be a nice grape juice evening ... for 33 people (incl. anklebiters) we had 12 bottles of champagne, 13 white wine and 19 red wine ...
With the champagne we had some nibblies ... which were highly appreciated ... you never know how dinner will be ;-)
Then everybody had to listen to the unavoidable speech ...
... that Thomas gave here ... if I remember correctly another one followed ... as you can see on the photo at least the speaker was pleased ;-)
We were happy, that Thomas' mum could attend after her knee operation ... she actually stayed up 'til 2 am! here with Carola
Finally - everybody must have thought - we moved over to dinner ... see the tables in the background ... Thomas showing the way ...
After the first course Thomas held another speech ... uuaarrgghh ... ... but it was important to thank everybody, because all of them contributed with their support to this adventure and its success!
After another course, Cynthia followed, the heart pounding ... but she found lovely words for her "new" friends, that have welcomed her so nicely.
From a couple of friends we received a balloon ride ... and Bertram created a page-long poem, which was absolutely funny and we had a great laugh!
All guests enjoyed a lovely dinner ...
And here are the guests: ... let's start with Thomas' mum ... so happy, that she could be there ...
... Monica & David from Melbourne AUS / Bristol UK ... Cynthia's witness ...
... Susanne and Gabriel from Mosbach ... Thomas' witness ...
... Eveline & Daniel from Zurich, Switzerland ...
... Beverly & Jonathan from Letchworth, UK ...

... Carola & Philipp ...
... Thomas' daughters Carola and Claudia ...
... the daughters of Eveline and Daniel, Marianne, Stefanie and Carole ...
... Natasha and Kelly ...
... and some wedding crashers ... nobody knows, who invited them ...
After the main course we had a little surprise for most of the guests: The Second Hand Puppet Theatre from Tuebingen came again and performed just for us ...
... a second room was prepared and we think the audience enjoyed the performance ...

... and the later the evening, the more fun we had ...

... here Monica and Cynthia ...
... and Steve and Thomas ...
... together with Monica, David, Daniel & Eveline ...
... our English friends Beverly & Jonathan with Bertram ...
... nobody knows why, but some anklebiters fell of their chairs ... NATASHA !!!
... here with Susanne & Martin and my mum, who suprisingly stayed up 'til 2am ... age doesn't prevent from having fun!
... here with Doris, Friedhelm, Dirk, Carola and Susanne ...
... Andrea & Peter and Gaynor & Steve ...
... and with Susanne & Gabriel and Susanne & Martin ...
... Gaynor, Monica and Cynthia ...

Thanks to all our friends, who contributed so much to this wonderful night, who were just happy together with us and shared this miracle, that happened to Cynthia & Thomas. Thank you!
