Cadiz ...

Next day we arrived in Cadiz, where we first took a 45min bus tour to Jerez de la Frontera ... strong Moorish influence you can see in this castle ...
Here the three of us opposite that castle in front of a cathedral ...
First stop was a sherry bodega ... here the barrels with the sherry maturing ... can take up to 25-30 years ...
In this courtyard we enjoyed some typical tapas and sampled their sherrys and brandys ...
Here a picture of one of the cellars ... the black stuff on the walls is mould ... specially treated for the air quality in there ...
Our tour guide there (Italian born, grown-up in Germany, married to a Spaniard!) explained the different stages of sherry making ...
We continued by bus to view a show of Royal Andalusian Horses (just twice a week) ... and got stuck in a strike of Municipal workers who blocked the main crossing of that city ... they wanted their salaries ... our bus just behind them ...
... we just made it to the Equestrian School to see the show ... it was forbidden to photograph there ... so in the breaks Thomas took a photo of the tractor paving the track ;-)
... and a secret one at the end of the show ... camera between his legs ;-)
Well, it wouldn't be Spain without a bull ... ;-)
Without Ruth, Cynthia and Thomas took a walk into Cadiz ... here the Plaza de Espagna ...
Funny little narrow streets everywhere ...
Here Cadiz at the shoreline ...
... and the two of us - as usual - enjoying a drink and - as usual - writing post cards ...
Next night, we had the German singer Kerstin Heiles on board, a Edith Piaf interpreter ... it was a really good evening with an amazing performance, which explains why she's the only non-French to be allowed to perform Edith Piaf songs in Paris ...

Well, Cadiz is a really beautiful city, the sherry tasting and the horses were amazing ... so a clear recommendation!
