Tarragona (Barcelona) ...

Next day we arrived in Barcelona where we took a bus trip to Tarragona ... we've been in Barcelona already ... it turned out to be a good decision as it rained all day in Barcelona, but we had beautiful sunshine there! After 1,5 hours drive we arrived in this wonderful old town ... here a first impression after leaving the bus ... have a look at the colourful posts here ...
... here - in the middle of the old city centre - a little antique shop ...
A lot of old Roman buildings are there to see, amazing ... at the top of the stairs, the entrance of the cathedral ...
... here another view of this cathedral ... spot Cynthia and Ruth ;-)
The yard inside the cathedral ... we were really surprised by this city!
What Tarragona is also famous for are the many teams that build "human towers" ... an old tradition there ... here the team preparing for the "stunt" ... wrapping cloth bands around their waists to stand the weight ...
I nearly came too late to shoot that photo ... they were already dismantling the tower ... so just add two more "stories" to this picture!
We went on to see more Roman remains ... here a cafe around foundations ...
... and here the Roman tower building ...
... to get up (!) the tower we had to first climb down (!) some stairs ... but as you see Ruth managed it!
After we took the elevator up we had a breathtaking view over Tarragona ... here the cathedral in the background ...
the three of us on top, the Mediterranean Sea in the background ... btw. Thomas got a new nick name ... the Mother Theresa of Sons ... for pushing the wheel chair up and down over cobble stones ...
The remains of a huge Roman circus we could see from up there ... that's only a small part, it obviously was about 300m long ...

Well, we were really very impressed with Tarragona and can only recommend to visit this city!
