July 24th - 27th 2012, Convertible Tour ...

Finally some good weather for 4 days ... and we used the opportunity to have a longish drive through the South-West of Germany and parts of Switzerland ...

We avoided "Autobahns" completely and started through the Odenwald ... our "home track" ...
We continued along the river Neckar ... as you can see beautiful weather ...
another village along the Neckar ... some visitors might remember ...
... and we had our first stop in the East of the Black Forrest ...
Next stop was the castle of "Hohenzollern" ... as you see in the background ...
Here a closer look, quite impressive ...
We had a drink in their beer garden and skipped the tour of the castle ...
Fantastic views from up there ... here the two of us ...
After overnighting in a little guest house on the "Schwaebische Alb" (mountain area east of the Black Forrest), we continued our tour South ... here an example of the landscape ...
Arriving in Friedrichshafen at the lake Constance, we took the ferry across to Switzerland ...
... where we arrived in Romanshorn.
We drove on through the "Appenzeller Land", beautiful Swiss landscape ... not too high yet ...
... and we "climbed" up the "Ruppen Pass" via small windy roads through the woods up to about 1.110 metres ...
Next night we found another little guest house along the road ... btw we had a white wine, a Merlot ... what? you might say (we thought the same) ... it's softly pressed through a sieve so the skin is taken away ... tasted really good ..
Next morning we headed towards the lake Constance, where we had a quick coffee @ our friend Eveline ...
We drove back to the Black Forrest through Switzerland ...
... and arrived in Alpirsbach, where they brew the nice beer, that Cynthia likes so much ... here our hotel ...
After a dinner (with the beer of course) we headed back to Weinheim ...
... and finally Thomas made Cynthia drive the car too ... just about 20 minutes, but she made it!

So you have to use the opportunity and the weather ... we had four good days and it was fantastic to drive in our new "baby" ...
