November / December Melbourne ...

As Jared didn't go that well at the end of October, we decided to fly to Melbourne to support his fight against cancer ...

So we arrived on 1st of November and for the first two weeks we were the "chauffeurs" to his radiation appointments ... but we also had time for a nice lunch with him and his girlfriend Danielle in Melbourne ...
We found some time to watch kangaroos ... here a big one ...
... and this one I could get really close ...
We had our "daily appointments" with Jared, i. e. we met for lunch ...
... here in Kew, one of the suburbs ...
We also took the train towards the city centre ... here close to Flinders Street Station ...
... as can be seen here ...
We strolled around ... back alleys ...
... and went up the Eureka tower, where we had some stunning views ... here the bay ..
... and towards the North ...
... these two you know ... just the prove that we've been there ...
... and a Yarra bridge ... view from 300m above, where we headed back to the train station.
We were invited by Caroline and David for a barbecue ... here the chef at work ...
... and Caroline serving ... pop corn is to be recommended ;-)))
... some special shots of their son Sam and the house dog Roxy in the pool ...
Here Jared ...
We went to Melbourne centre again, to the aquarium, which wasn't very breathtaking ... and definitely too expensive ... here a good shot of that fellow ...
As it was pouring with rain, we decided to go to the world bar at South Bank ... where - believe it not - after 4 weeks withdrawal, Thomas could drink an Erdinger Weissbier ... really cheap for 14 AUD ...
... here the bar from inside ...
We had a nice dinner with Lucy, here the two together again ...
... which included nearly the whole family ...
We were also invited to David's birthday, where we had a wonderful dinner in Warrandyte ...
... here a sunny shot from our favourite shopping centre towards the city skyline ...
One Sunday, Trevor was so nice to take us to William Ricketts Sanctuary ... an artist that lived with Aborigines ... amazing art in the middle of the forest ...
In the last week, we had a trip to Portsea ... here the beach ... it was cold ...
Caroline and David showed us some of the xmas lighted houses ....
This is the last lunch with Jared ... sort of our "home" lunch restaurant ...
Then we said farewell to Cynthia's ex workmates ...
... and celebrated the last evening in our favourite restaurant, the Tender Trap in Doncaster ... here Chris behind the bar ...
... we had a lovely meal again (as usual) ... and then it was time to fly home again.

So Jared has stabilised and we cross our fingers that he further recovers!
