Finally Miami ...

After our final dinner on board we relaxed for our last drink in the Clipper Lounge to enjoy the band "Blue Express" for the last time ...
In the early morning (got up at 5:30) we had a first impression of Miami ...
Here a view of Miami ... still from the ship ...
Well after going through the immigration procedure of the US at 6:30 in the morning (!) we left the ship after 3,5 weeks and took a taxi to our hotel at Miami Beach. This was the view from our room ...
This is how it looks there basically, concrete, buildings everywhere ... to our taste overrated and overpriced ...
So we went to a shopping centre there ... and what was the first thing we saw there? The Tango grill ...
This an impression on the way back from the shopping centre to the hotel ...
... where we could watch the sun go down over Miami from our room ...
We thought it was a good idea to go to an American restaurant in the hotel, the "Gotham Steak" ... it turned out to be fucking overpriced ... the whole menu cost us 450 USD!! ... at least the steak was great and the waiter was very friendly ...
... that didn't apply to the Somelier ... after offering a bottle for 350 USD he got pissed as Thomas asked for a cheaper one. The next was 200 USD and Thomas still said "cheaper" ;-)) Then he just walked away with the words "then I leave you to it" ... !!!! The reason maybe this shelf and the fact that the wine list came on an ipad!
Here some pictures of our last day there ... the beach in front of the hotel ...
The hotel had 1.600 (!) rooms, obviously catering to mass tourism ... here some photo art ;-)
Well, our last picture (more art) ... the water dispenser with lemons in it ... This hotel is the opposite of the German "Gemuetlichkeit" ... we just don't like it!

We weren't overwhelmed with Miami, maybe we missed the more interesting spots (although we were warned not to go to "Little Haiti" or "Little Havanna") ... so to summarise Miami: been there, done that.

Well this cruise has come to an end ... we visited an amazing amount of places and we hope, you enjoyed reading this ... we definitely enjoyed this wonderful journey!!!
